The Wellston area Tourist Association helping to groom area snowmobile trails.  In fact members of the association do a "great" job, and they are to be wholeheartedly thanked..     There are countless trails for snowmobilers to ride, including hundreds of miles right here in the pristine Manistee National Forest.     The trails not only offer a wonderful path from which to enjoy the sights of mother nature, but they have become an economic benefit as well.     As Bruce Beger, owner of the Wellston Whitetail Party Mart and chairman of the of the grooming committee of the Wellston Area Tourist Association said; "Wellston would be a ghost town this time wasn't for the snowmobilers.  Five hundred sleds an hour use the trails on an average weekend."     Think of that -- 500 AN HOUR  " most people just don't realize what impact the snowmobilers have on the economy." Beger Said.     Perhaps we don't. And perhaps we should have a  better appreciation for our trails, and for the many people who help to maintain them.     So to the small army of people from across the county who help, we say -- thank you.
